Help Jihad Ahmed and his family survive genocide
United Kingdom
I am raising money for Jihad Ahmed and his family. Jihad is the uncle of Fatima who I’m also raising money for (https://chuffed.org/project/126338-help-fatima-and-her-children-survive-the-genocide). This is him in his own words, translated with Fatima’s assistance:
“My name is Jihad Ahmed, I am 53 years old, I suffer from cancerous fibers in the lungs. I was a prisoner of the occupation and was subjected to harsh torture despite my illness and old age. I lost all my possessions, and here I am today without money or a house. I lost the crops in my land. I used to care for it, and I lost a lot of money on it, and it caused a lot of debts. My wife was sick and screaming day and night from pain and her situation worsened and she needed treatment and tests she had to go out to another country for treatment, but the occupation delayed her treatment journey and she got tired a lot, we were surrounded and my daughter was injured by shrapnel in the brain, thank God, God blessed her, then the occupation took me prisoner, as it does for all civilians, and I was subjected to the harshest types of torture throughout my stay in prison, and I think about my family, my injured daughter, my sick wife, and the rest of my young married children and children, as I have 4 sons, including two married and 6 daughters. Including 3 married women who got out of prison hoping that I would meet them and hold them to my chest despite the war and destruction I was surprised by the martyrdom of my eldest son Ahmed and the injury of all members of my family and the family of my martyr son and my daughter’s family Her husband was injured and injured again in that incident It was very difficult for me to bear all that one day after that I was surprised by a call from the authorities asks my wife to travel to Egypt for treatment alone, they did not accept any escorts with her, despite her illness and her inability to support herself, and now I take care of my children alone, I do not have money and everything is expensive, I cannot provide anything for my children, the youngest of whom is Saba 6 years old and Mohammed is 10 years old, here we are living in a severe famine, so I lost 40 kilos of weight. My health does not help me to provide food, shelter and clothes for my children because I was displaced a lot from place to place the last time I did not take I have no tent, no food, no clothes for my children, I now need a tent, help me to provide a decent life for my children, or bring them a bag of flour, and God bless you”
